Vesperine

A concept, not a shop

Midwinter

Two wicks for the longest night. Bitter orange, clove and smoked cedar.

What it smells of

Opening

Bitter orange peel, and a crack of pink pepper.

Heart

Clove and cardamom, warm as a closed kitchen.

Base

Smoked cedar and tonka, long after the candle is out.

Close on the label: an eight-point star and the word Vesperine stamped in gold foil on deep red, the red plated glass curving away behind it.

Plated red glass. A gold foil label.

The tumbler is electroplated, so it holds a mirror red whether the candle is lit or not. The label is foil stamped, and catches the flame from across a room.

Vessel
Electroplated glass, kept when the wax is gone
Label
Gold foil on red stock
Wicks
Two, cotton, set wide for an even pool
Wax
Coconut and soy
Midwinter lit, two flames above the rim of the red plated tumbler.

Breathe on it.

Move across the flames and they lean away. Press and hold to blow them out. Touch near the flames and they lean away. Touch and hold to blow them out. Midwinter, lit.

Midwinter is a concept and is not for sale. The house, the candle and every image on this page were made for a demonstration: the candle was modelled and rendered in Blender, and the flames you blew out are running live in your browser.
